More Balls than most

Our Story

More Balls Than Most (MBTM) is the brother campaign of PinkDrive NPC, South Africa’s most loved Breast Cancer Awareness Organisation

PinkDrive NPC, a health sector NGO, was founded in 2009 on the premise that “Early detection will help to prolong a life.” PinkDrive and MBTM’s cardinal purpose is to contribute meaningfully towards preventing as many people as it can, from succumbing to breast, cervical, prostate and testicular cancer.

Our primary focus is on citizens without access to reasonable care for these conditions, and who reside in areas where health services do not reach.

Education & Awareness

There is a critical need for education and awareness of Prostate Cancer and early detection among the public and healthcare practitioners.  There is a general lack of knowledge on Prostate Cancer among African men.  In fact, most South African indigenous languages do not have translations for the term ‘prostate gland’.

Our awareness programme not only educates men on prostate cancer but encourages men to share the message with family, friends and colleagues to get tested early. We believe there is great hope as in the past two decades most men have survived prostate cancer and a continual diagnosis and early treatment can have an even bigger impact.

Early Detection

MBTM recognises that treatable cancers receiving even the basic levels of care, could translate into varying lengths of extended life for the afflicted, when detected and treated early.  Our posture is ostensibly a promoter of health awareness in general, and specifically health education and heightening awareness and early detection of gender-related cancers in South Africa.

PinkDrive and MBTM undertake special outreach programs to various rural areas.  We are visiting communities across South Africa to spread our message that “Early Detection Can Prolong Lives.”

Our beneficiaries are the indigent and medically uninsured men in South Africa living in rural, township and peri urban areas.

MBTM’s focus is Prostate and Testicular Education and Awareness.

Delayed diagnosis has been identified as a likely cause for patients presenting with advanced disease.

Through our unique mobile solution we are able to reach communities who do not have access to medical services.

Patient Journey

MBTM provides Prostate Specific Antigen Test (PSA): Rapid testing for men above the age of 40.

Should the test indicate further intervention is required, our medical staff will issue a referral slip and assist the patient in access further screening through the public health system.

MBTM through PinkDrive NPC has an MOU with the National Department of Health ensuring patients are actively integrated into the health system for further intervention.
